The Bicycle Thieves

ffffffff
ffffffff
Ladri di biciclette is a 1948 Italian neo-realist film directed by Vittorio De Sica and portrays the lives of ordinary people. Ricci
is an unemployed man who finds a job that requires a bicycle. On his first day of work the bicycle gets stolen. Ricci and his young
soncommence a desperate search around Rome for his bicycle.
Stripped and abandoned bikes and locks have become part of the urban landscape, evident everywhere as a form of urban malaise.
I look to acknowledge their passing in my own poetic dialogue with the street. Seemingly anonymous observations culled from
Ladri di biciclette are scattered around the city.
